IRYNA ALEKSIYCHUK – Ukrainian composer, pianist, and organist,
associate professor of composition at the National Music Academy of Ukraine,
winner of international competitions and national awards,
including the prestigious honorary title Honored Cultural Figure of Ukraine,
and member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.

2014 – Artem Vedel “Kyiv” Art Prize and honorary title of Composer of the Year for the piece Lullabies of Reeds for soloists, mixed choir, and orchestra.
2001 – Second Prize at the Golden Domes of Kyiv Competition for choral compositions based on Psalms.
2000 – Revutsky Prize from the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine for the performance of contemporary music.
1997 – Third Prize at the Murray Dranoff International Two Piano Competition (Miami, USA).

Concerts and Performances
Iryna is a passionate performer. She has given numerous concerts in prestigious venues across Germany, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Moldova, and the United States, performing as a solo pianist, in a piano duo, and as a member of chamber ensembles. She has taken part in many international music festivals.
Her piano duo with the renowned Ukrainian pianist Yurii Kot has won three international competitions, including the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich and the Murray Dranoff Two Piano Competition in Miami.
The duo’s repertoire includes both standard classical-romantic works and premieres of new compositions written especially for them.

Among the concert halls where Iryna has performed are: Hercules Hall and the Concert Hall of the Hochschule für Musik in Munich; the Concert Hall of the Darmstadt Opera; the Concert Hall of the Kempinski Hotel in Dresden; the New World Center and the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall in Miami; the Euskalduna Palace, the Concert Hall of the Andrés Isasi Music School, and the BBK Hall in Bilbao; as well as the concert halls of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv, the Philharmonic of Moldova in Chișinău, among others.

As a piano duo, she has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Wolfgang Balzer and Lothar Zagrosek; the Bilbao Municipal Band conducted by José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, Tim Reynish, and Ivan Meylemans; the New World Symphony Orchestra under Neil Stalberg; the MERCK Chamber Orchestra of Darmstadt under Christian Rudolf Riedel; the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine under Volodymyr Sirenko and Viktor Ploskina; and the Kyiv Chamber Ensemble "Kyiv Soloists" led by Bohodar Kotorovych, as well as with various other orchestras across Ukraine.As a pianist, she has participated in concert programs with numerous chamber ensembles and soloists, including: the Lumière Trio with soprano Angéline Danel and clarinetist Rafa Climent; clarinetist Rafa Climent (in other collaborations); tenor Martín Barcelona Rozas; baritone Markiyan Sviato; sopranos Patricia Sesar Miguel, Anna Popova, and Olena Leonova; the Bilbao-based quartet Mapa Mundi; violinist Nina Syvachenko, among others.
Masterclasses and Competition Jury Participation
Iryna is frequently invited to give masterclasses in piano and composition and to serve as a jury member for international competitions in piano, piano duo, and composition. These include: masterclasses on piano technique and lectures in Kragujevac (Serbia), the First International Competition for Young Pianists Gradus ad Parnassum (Kragujevac, Serbia), the National Competition for Student Pianists in honor of I. Karabyts (Bakhmut, Ukraine), the Gradus ad Parnassum International Competition for Young Composers (Kyiv, Ukraine), the "Golden Orpheus" Children’s Choir Competition (Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine), the Young Pianists’ Competition in memory of P.I. Tchaikovsky (Kamianka, Cherkasy region, Ukraine), and the National Composers’ Competition in honor of Myroslav Skoryk (Kyiv, Ukraine), among many others.She has also consistently served on the commission responsible for awarding the National L.M. Revutsky Prize, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine and the National Union of Composers of Ukraine.
Composition
Internationally recognized as a composer, Iryna composes in a wide variety of genres. Her works include symphonic, choral, and chamber compositions, as well as solo vocal and instrumental pieces, all of which are performed with great enthusiasm and warmly received by both musicians and audiences around the world.
She was recently commissioned to compose an orchestral work that premiered in Prague and was later performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop.
Choral and symphonic genres are among her favorites. Many choirs have commissioned her works and have repeatedly won awards and first prizes in competitions by performing her music.
In 2017, the Kyiv State Lysenko Music Lyceum Children's Choir, conducted by Yulia Puchko-Kolesnyk, achieved first place in the global choral ranking in the category of “Spiritual Music” with a program composed entirely of works by Iryna Aleksiychuk.
In 2014, Aleksiychuk received special recognition as a contemporary choral composer from the European Grand Prix Association for Choral Singing during its 46th edition held in Tolosa, Spain.
